Sometimes, there are people in your life that make you constantly have deja vu. You feel that they have been in your life always. That there are so few memories that don’t include them, that it feels more unnatural to have a story and moment without them being a part of it.
Kristen and Elliott. They grew up together. They grew together.
They are always.
We drove up to Asheville, North Carolina and stayed in a cabin on the property and became another guest instead of outsiders visiting. That’s how we like it.
Thanks Kristen and Elliott for making us feel so welcome. You guys reminded us of how we should embrace those who are constant, love-filled, self-less and full of fun and adventure for life.
EMOTION. That’s what this day was packed full of and we know you’ll feel it in these images from Ali & Max’s Day.
We left this wedding fulfilled, not only because of it’s beauty and celebration, but because of these good people. I mean the most good kind of people you can find. These types of weddings fulfill us and keep us going.
Ali is a ballerina with the Houston Ballet and Max is a coffee aficionado who runs his own Amaya Roasting Company and coffee shop where the two of them met. It’s the sweetest love story after that and ending up here having this amazing and intimate wedding celebration that we were so blessed to be a part of. Such fun! Such laughter, such joy and there is so much thankfulness in their hearts, they are truly grateful for their family and close nit group of friends, and you can really tell. Just in a day, we know them so well.
We know you’ll love their emotion which will pull you into their day with them, and that you’ll fall head over heels in love with their floral decor by Botanica International Design Studio! And the cakes by Chocolate Pi are works of art, including Ali’s personally requested Beet Macaroons, which were just heaven. This whole event was a dream, we’ve been dubbing it a rendition of Shakespeare’s “A Mid Summers Night Dream” wedding. Which we have to say a special thank you to Michelle and Sarah at the OE and their incredible staff for making this wedding phenomenal for our couple. It’s always a pleasure working here.
So let’s get on with the images of their stellar celebration!
Back in Paris! We LOVE this city and the people and the beauty that is everywhere. The gardens and the architecture and the affection that you can witness between couples sitting at a café table.
Sheryl had been to Paris before as well and when she contacted us about her elopement with Richard that was planned for the Summer, we were ecstatic and could not wait to get working on travel arrangements and ideas for their wedding day.
Since they live in Australia, we used Skype to meet and chat and get to know each other and learn about their story and their desire to travel thousands of miles from home to be married at one of the most beautiful parks in Paris. They wanted us to come along so everyone back home could see what their day was like, the emotions that poured out and the fun and happiness that took over that day.
We had a blast and laughed and cried along with them as they read the vows they had written, tried not to tip in the row boats on a lake where we wondered if the driver they hired had left us or was just sleeping down the road out of site, clapped with the gathering crowd on the Ponts de Arts when they placed the lock that Richard engraved onto the railing and then, at the end of the night, when we all watched the sun setting and just had our eyes fixated on the Tour de Eiffel, we hugged and cheered and celebrated and stayed in the moment for as long as possible.
And then ate a crêpe with nutella and bananas and had some café crème! It’s a tradition!
We miss you guys and can’t wait to meet up again! Xoxo
We are so excited to share this wedding at the new and modern Vault venue in Tampa! We love how they kept the historical elements from this building that used to be a bank in downtown Tampa, and brought it current to be a gorgeous and very rad place to be married. Anh and Scott won our hearts with their eclectic personalities and Anh’s awesome eye for style. We were also thrilled to work with the brilliant ladies and our friends at Burkle Events. They brought this gorgeous day together and made it remarkable for our couple. Some of you may know that Erin is a Mid Century Modern fanatic, so she was flipping ecstatic to shoot this venue and all of it’s design. Our favorites from the day: Anh’s Wo-man of honor helping her get ready, their multi-cultural families coming together as one, Scott’s emotional reaction to seeing Anh at their first look, that Scott looks so much like Beck (one of our favorite musical artists of all time), the artwork that they created together during the ceremony by combining bright colors of paint, the awesome flower wall that Anh handmade for her photobooth (which she has kindly let us use in our boudoir studio recently) , oh and stealth-fully trying to avert a drunk lady downtown during their pictures (we got skills and now looking back it was pretty funny). Good times!!
Let me start out by saying we have the best freakin’ couples ever. EVER.
These two would have danced in the rain. That is just the type of people Cara and Travis are. And man did it rain this day.
But the rain did not stop over 300 guests, family and friends, from traveling to her grandparent’s property that was once a horse farm managed by her Grandpa, to celebrate the amazing love and relationship that these guys have.
So, I will keep the written story short and let the story we documented that day tell all.
A big huge “Thank You” to Shipra Panosian from Erin and I for being there shooting with me. You are such a pleasant, fun and extremely talented person and photographer, so kind-hearted and inspirational and I cannot wait for the next opportunity that we get to hang out together.
And to Adair with Dairing Events in Jacksonville for not only being there as a bridesmaid and best friend to Cara, but for also being the wedding planner for your dear sister-friend. You too were full of energy, love and sweetness, and you were so willing to help out making sure that everything ran smoothly for everyone. You are a blessing and extremely talented at what you do. I know we will work with you again!
